On my visit to the UK, I went to the city of Liverpool to attend a family wedding. It gave me the opportunity to follow a magical music tour of the Beatles. Taking a tour bus, our guide Adrian gave an excellent introduction to places like Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields.
Yes, the names of the songs reflected the local area where the Beatles lived . The barbers shop and the firemen with their clean machines are still there. So, are the homes of the fab four, albeit two are now owned by the National Trust and another has just been saved from demolition. The Cavern Club where the Beatles played over 50 years ago. Yes, there magical music has lasted that long.
As a part of the new book that I have written called Amazing Musicians, I have included a bioview on the life of John Lennon. His memory lives on in Liverpool where they have named the John Lennon International Airport after him.
Yes, the city of Liverpool celebrates the Beatles and has a museum devoted to their story. Amazing that 50 years ago, it was so different, The Beatles were seen upstarts with funny haircuts and dreamers – four young lads who chose to follow their music dreams rather than get a proper job, so to speak.
So, put Liverpool abd the Beatles on your own personal Magical Mystery Tour.
