What is the best way to learn? That is the question that Maria Montessori asked about 100 years ago. At that time, most teachers had a rather academic approach and learning by repetition was prevalent. It involved the memorization of facts. However, it does little or nothing for ones practical skills.
Amazing Women. This is a book in which her story is told. She developed a practical hands on approach, working with children who had disabilities. Her practical methods soon showed results. Several of her 8 year old students, who had been regarded as backward, were able to take State examinations for writing and reading.
